Born and Raised in a Religious Cult
The author of this website was born into and brought up within a Christian religious cult. The cult wasn’t always a cult – originally it was a non-denominational group of Christians seeking to re-establish pure bible based doctrine and practice.
if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another – 1 John 1:7 NIV
Over 50 years ago, however, one of the leaders of this bible-based Christian group took them in a more cultish direction, introducing many new rules along with classic cult control techniques similar to those used by Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and many other religious cults.
Subsequent leaders have continued this trend, leading to increasing levels of centralised control over every element of the daily lives of its members, and the introduction of new concepts that seem to borrow elements from Jewish tradition and Roman Catholic doctrine.
For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. – Acts 20:29 NKJV
Set Free
Fortunately, I had sincere Christian parents who led me to Jesus at a young age, and while that initial conversion was then quickly smothered under the works-based religion of the cult, in recent years, a series of events have opened my eyes and brought me back into freedom.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. – Galatians 5:1 KJV
Now a Whistle-blower
Like many religious cults, the one I am still nominally part of has numerous means of making it hard for its members to leave – for example, loss of employment, loss of family, and threats of being eternally damned if you ‘apostatise’ from the cult’s erroneous beliefs.
While I don’t believe the threats – I think it’s safer to believe the bible – the loss of family and employment is harder, especially when the bible is clear that family units should not be broken up based on belief.
If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her. And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. – 1 Corinthians 7:12-13 NKJV
what God has joined together, let not man separate – Mark 10:9 NKJV
My Mission
After extensive prayer before God, I have decided that for now, I will stay where I have been set, and will serve the Lord from within by creating this whistle-blower website to help open the eyes of anyone currently within a religious cult, whether Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, or any of the 10s of 1000s of religious cults that exist in the world today.

Submission
Like it or not, all humans are always submitting to something. The enemy of our souls will often try to present us with a false choice: In reality there is a 3rd choice: submitting to Jesus. …repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:21 KJV
